«FAIRNESS IN PUBLIC PERCEPTIONS AND PRACTICE IN RUSSIA»
2013-2015, in cooperation with the Fund INDEM
«DEMOCRACY, RULE OR LAW AND LEGAL PRACTICE IN EVERYDAY LIFE OF RUSSIANS»
cross-sectional survey studying the perception of legal issues, trust to legal and law-enforcement institutions, interaction with legal institution, evaluation of outcome, effectiveness, legal procedures, barriers and obstacles for the rule of law. The project was designed by Prof. Debra Javeline (University of Notre Dame, USA) and Vanessa Baird (University of Colorado-Boulder) and implemented under the management of Dr. Anna Andreenkova (CESSI). The survey included 3 rounds (2003-2005) of population surveys in largest cities of Russia, quantitative formalized interviews with lawyers, NGO working on legal issues and educational institutions in law.
«CORRUPTION IN RUSSIA – REASONS AND STRUCTURE»
2006 conducted in the cooperation in the Institute of Public projections (INOP). The purpose of the research is the revealing main mechanists of corruption, description of corruption interactions in different occasions, intensity and size of corruption and resources involved in this process, interests of main actors, motives and reasons to establish corruptive relations. The survey was conducted by in-depth interviews with different target groups – national and regional executives and elected officials, law-enforcement and tax authorities, business associations, public councils, mass media, business and academic community. The results of the survey attracted a lot of public and academic attention. The report on the survey “Nature and the structure of corruption of Russia” was published in 2008 and discussed in many conference and workshops («Природа и структура коррупции в России». «PUBLIC EXPECTATIONS REGARDING FAIRNESS AND JUSTICE IN RUSSIAN SOCIETY AND THE ROLE OF GOVENRMENT IN PROVIDING SOCIAL FAIRNESS»
2019 – study of understanding the concept of fairness, criteria, motivation and negotiation perspectives regarding fairness in different life domains. The survey includes general population quantitative survey, focus-groups with different groups of population and IDIs with experts.
